NUVEN FOUNDATION

NUVEN FOUNDATION est 2012, is a non profit organization working to address significant issues within our primary areas of interest - Healthcare, Education. In the initial phase, we aim to serve the most socially excluded population of Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka demographies and our continued efforts and services have already benefited lakhs of people in these regions.

We believe that good health is a forerunner to good education and while 70% of India is living in semi-urban and rural areas, 80% of India’s healthcare facilities are located in urban/metro areas. The inability of the current mechanism to fill this wide gap is mainly due to the fact that rural people are scattered in comparison to the urban people and are deprived of essential services like basic healthcare, education, sanitation and livelihood opportunities. Though the government has initiated various schemes to improve the quality of life; the truth remains that we are far from the optimum levels due to lack of proper infrastructure, severe shortage of staff, underfinanced with very poor standards of hygiene, resulting in discontinuation of education in children and forcing people to visit very expensive private medical practitioners by traveling long distances and suffering long waiting times. We promise to dissolve this gap through infrastructural and technological interference and involvement of the local community.

We believe that education is both the means as well as the end to a better life - the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Education is the most effective tool which helps children build a strong foundation; enabling them to free themselves from the vicious cycle of ignorance, poverty and disease. We understand that the Education for Children cannot be achieved without the family, particularly, unless the mother is assured of health care and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is educated and relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.

We go by the philosophy of “No Child Born to Die”, another part of our work revolves around providing protection to children vulnerable to different social and physical threats. In all this, we ensure that we put children first in everything we do and champion their rights all along.

NUVEN FOUNDATION extended its thematic areas of intervention by supporting family health, livelihood, and women empowerment. Children, their families and the community become the target group for NUVEN FOUNDATION’s activities as health, nutrition and child education cannot be done in isolation and nothing else but good health, proper education and wholesome nutrition can bring long lasting change in the society.
